Murano Acoustic Wood Panels installed Sontext have recently supplied Acoustic Panels to the new Visitor Centre at the Hamad Port in Doha, located in Mesaieed, in the south of Qatar.

The project was commissioned by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications to provide training and educational activities related to the history of maritime activities and the port operations in Qatar. The building also houses an aquarium and museum.

Murano Acoustic Wood Panels were installed in the auditorium to improve the sound quality and the visitor experience.

Sontext supplied Murano G8 Grooved Acoustic Panelling in an Oak finish for the walls and ceilings. The design brief was to create a seamless look on the walls and ceilings in a natural wood finish. This was achieved by using a tongue-and-groove joining system and large-format 2400x600mm Murano Acoustic Wood Panels. This also enabled the installation to be performed much more rapidly than other smaller conventional panels.

Sontext Serenity Acoustic Panels installedAECOM designed the project in conjunction with Engineer Mr Jonathan Orchard. Consol Qatar w.l.l. completed the installation for the Head Contractor, Al Jaber Trading and Contracting. Mr Nicolas Bitar from Consol Qatar worked closely with Gerald Hynes, CEO of Sontext, to facilitate the design and procurement process and found the system provided by Sontext very simple to install.
