Sontext was contracted by Box Hill Music School to supply and manufacture a wide range of Acoustic panels. These were installed by Commercial builder S J Higgins and designed by Acoustic Consulting firm Hanson and Associates.

The project involved a number of room types

• Production suite
• Practice Rooms
• Band Practice Rooms
• Auditorium
• Teaching rooms
• Control rooms
• Recording Studio

The requirement for so many different types of rooms meant that the specifications of the Acoustic Panels varied quite significantly. These involved specifically tuned absorbers to treat at specific frequencies. These included,

• 400mm thick panels with a perforated timber face
• Fabric covered acoustic panels from 50 to 400mm deep
• Solid timber face diffusers
• various depth acoustic ceiling panels
  
• Bass traps
• Mobile acoustic stands

This meant working with the architect and acoustics consultant to not only meet the acoustic performance but achieve the design look and feel required by the architect and the college.
